The Guglielmo Winery was established over 93 years ago when Emilio and Emilia purchased vineyard land in Morgan Hill. The couple began making wine and selling it to the French and Basque communities in San Francisco. In 1945, the second-generation winemaker, George Guglielmo continued the wine making business and expanded the vineyards and distribution channels. Since the beginning, each successive generation has continued the tradition of producing award winning wines while introducing new technology and business operations. Room Tasting Manager, Gena Guglielmo will take us on a journey which explores the history of her family’s winery while conducting a virtual winetasting.

During the wine tasting, there will be an opportunity to network with your fellow SCCEPC members and guests. In small groups, we will taste the wine and answer trivia questions regarding family succession planning.

During the second part of our event, Peter Johnson of the University of the Pacific Institute for Family Business will discuss “How to Ensure a Successful Family Business Succession”.

What you will take away from this program:

  • The main reason family businesses don’t make it to the next generation
  • The 21 things that family businesses need to do to ensure a successful succession
  • What the role of the advisors are in the process
  • Specific answers to your questions

This program offers one hour of CE credit (pending approvals). We will also feature a drawing at the end of the program.
